I Wanna Colour

Heaven is a Patio

We officially christened summer this past weekend with our first trip to a patio.

My Husband Loves Me

Yesterday, I was watching the Food Network (SHOCKER!) and Bobby Flay was making "Stuffed French Toast"

Doesn't that look unbelievably good?

I mentioned a couple of times during the show how much I wanted to try it.

I woke up this morning, and this is what Chris had made me for breakfast:

I have the best husband in the whole world. 

Early Mornings

I am not an early morning person.  I do not enjoy getting out of a comfortable warm bed to face the day, especially when even the sun has deemed it too early.

However, when you and your husband have jobs that start at 7AM, and have a dog that needs to be walked before, 5:45 comes only too early every day.

So, today I tried something new.  Instead of walking quickly, and thinking about how badly I wished I was still in bed, I actually slowed down, looked around, and maybe even.... enjoyed myself?  

The sun was rising (eventually), the sky was the most beautiful shades of blue and pink, Carter was walking peacefully beside me, I could hear birds. 

I felt completely alone in the most wonderful way.

My life keeps teaching me over and over again these days that the simple things in life (like a great walk or a beautiful sunrise) are the things in life that really matter.

Braid Frenzy

I'm digging braids.

There's a whole boho chic vibe that surrounds someone with a braid, and I love it.

Some that are doing it right...

Even bread looks good with a braid...

Yum.

I'm giving braids a go this season...

So far so good I think.

And a few who couldn't be doing braids more wrong...

YIKES.

I'm excited to give more braids a try this summer, on lazy days at the beach and maybe a wedding or two!

I wish I had discovered these guys before they became unbelievably popular. 

However, I didn't, and became a band wagon fan.

But it doesn't matter, because they are amazing, and every song makes me smile inside my soul.

Isn't it wonderful to have a Mother?

Yes, she might drive you crazy sometimes, make you roll your eyes or wonder what the HECK she is thinking... but at the end of the day, your Mom is one of the best people in your life.

Hug your Mom, hug your friend who is a Mom, remember kindred Moms and every lady in your life that has taught you something, helped you feel special, or made you feel at home in their home.

Blondsville

I've been a redhead. I've been brunette. I've even been gray (bad day at the hair salon, yikes). The colour I will always come back to, always, is blond.

I know that blonds have more fun.  I know that blonds are smart, and that blonds get away with a lot.

No hate to my brunette beauties.... you know you're gorgeous. But I am a blond, through and through.

I've been so many shades of blond... and all you "bottle blonds" out there know that the search for the PERFECT blond is a never ending adventure!

Blushing For Bracelets

I have a love for bracelets.  I love bracelets because they look great, add a little somethin' somethin' to an outfit, and let's face it... they always fit.

I think bracelets are what non "girly girls" can pull off when they don't know anything about jewelery. 

A little bracelet love... 

Besides my engagement ring and wedding band, I think a bracelet (s) will be the one piece of jewelery I always rock.
